I grew up in Cranford NJ, and graduated from Cranford High School in 1989. I went to Binghamton University (it was SUNY-Binghamton then), and graduated with a B.S. in Psychobiology in 1993. I completed my Doctor of Optometry degree in 1997 at the New England College of Optometry (where I met Dr. Jonathan) in Boston, MA.
My favorite thing about being an eye doctor is that it gives me the opportunity to teach. I love teaching people about their eyes, and I hope every patient learns something during their eye exam!
Our kids keep me very busy– Sam is a senior at South Brunswick High school and plays hockey for the high school team and the NJ Stars. He is also a Somerset Eye Care employee which is really fun. Tali is a dedicated dancer on the competition team at The Dance Corner.
In addition to managing Somerset Eye Care, I also work as a practice management consultant, helping doctors around the country achieve their dreams in their own practices– what a privilege!
It is hard to balance kids and family and work– and I am so lucky that I get to do something I really love.

I grew up in Toronto, Canada, and graduated from York Mills High School in 1986. I spent a year at Hebrew University of Jerusalem before graduating with a B.Sc. in Psychology from the University of Toronto in 1991. I received my Doctor of Optometry degree in 1997, and completed a residency in Vision Rehabilitation at the Feinbloom Center in Philadelphia in 1998.
In my free time (when I’m not transporting my teenage daughter to dance or her friends’ houses or helping my son prepare for freshman year of college), I run! I am currently on a running streak, and will hit 1,000 days of running at least 2 miles everyday in September! I have also run multiple marathons as fundraisers for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and will do so again this fall at the 50th running of the NYC marathon. As a Canadian, I love hockey. I root for my hometown Toronto Maple Leafs and play on a local adult hockey team. l also like to watch gritty dramas like Better Call Saul, Animal Kingdom, and The Walking Dead. I’ll admit that I’ve also been known to relax by watching The Bachelor and 90 Day Fiance.
Bethany and I are thrilled to celebrate the 20th anniversary of “our baby”, Somerset Eye Care. I love the challenge of optometry because every patient is different. I may be prescribing a child’s first pair of glasses or contact lenses during one exam, treating an older patient for glaucoma during the next exam, and then spending time finding optical solutions to help a visually impaired patient maintain her independence. My job is constantly changing and that keeps it fun.

I grew up in North Brunswick, New Jersey, and graduated from North Brunswick Township High School. I chose to pursue a career in Optometry after graduating from high school and was fortunate enough to be accepted into a joint 7-year accelerated program with the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Before I departed for my college adventures, I wanted to experience real-world optometry and was given the opportunity to work at Somerset Eye Care as a technician. My journey continued as I completed my Bachelor’s degree and moved to the greatest city in the world for my Optometric education at SUNY College of Optometry in “The Big Apple”.
I enjoy Optometry because of its complex and evolving nature. Every patient is unique with different vision problems and ocular health conditions. I find Optometry exciting because it allows me to do detective work to discover the condition and provide the necessary eye care. I also appreciate the opportunity to interact with different people and educate patients about a structure as small yet complex as the eye! I am an adventure-seeker and enjoy adrenaline-rushing escapades! I plan to go sky diving and bungee jumping; just to name a few on my bucket list. I wait year-round for football season, and especially enjoy watching when the New England Patriots are playing! I am also a dancer and have trained in classical (Bharat Natyam) and semi-classical Indian dance. Action movies are my favorite, especially the James Bond movies (my favorite “Bond” is Pierce Brosnan, of course)! I look forward to providing outstanding vision care and I am thrilled to be a part of the Somerset Eye Care family, once again!

I am originally from Boston, and have lived in Northern NJ since childhood.
I graduated from University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Neuroscience. I became interested in optometry after suffering a serious eye injury in college– I had to see an optometrist multiple times and was impressed with my doctor’s ability to minimize my pain and preserve my vision.
After graduating from college, I worked in the optometry field as a technician here at Somerset Eye Care. Creating great relationships with patients has always been important to me, and I appreciated the opportunities to do this as a Somerset Eye Care employee.
I attended SUNY College of Optometry where I did research in the field of myopia control, and then completed a residency at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System, where I focused on ocular disease and low vision.
I enjoy seeing patients of all ages, and am happy to be back at Somerset Eye Care.
I love music and used to DJ, and also love working on cars. As you can see from my photo, I am passionate about fire safety, and recently fulfilled a lifelong dream of meeting Smokey Bear.

I was born in New York and have spent most of my life living in central NJ. I graduated from Rutgers University – New Brunswick with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and a minor in psychology. I became interested in optometry when I met a visually impaired student on campus. I then joined the pre-optometry club during undergrad, where I was able to participate in providing vision screenings in my community. While applying to optometry school, I also began working as an optometric technician, which allowed me to gain more exposure to the field.
I received my doctorate degree from SUNY College of Optometry. My clinical training includes experience with treatment and management of ocular disease, surgical co-management, contact lens fittings, and low vision.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, and watching reruns of Friends.
I am so excited to be joining the Somerset Eye Care team! I look forward to meeting patients and providing exceptional eye care.
